I've been a fan of Fuji compacts for some time and this little camera is great. It's very easy to use with well structured menus and several modes to suit everyone. Just want a camera to sort everything out for you - this camera has an intelligent automatic mode. Want to have a bit more control - the camera has aperture and shutter priority modes. There isn't a full manual mode, but for a small compact with semi-automatic modes suit me. Whether you want to make your own settings or trust the camera to sort it out for you, it's a good reliable camera.

Where Fuji's often excel is the performance in low light conditions. The high ISO performance of the camera is impressive for a compact like this. It won't compete with high priced DSLRs of course but in it's class it easily out-performs cameras from other manufacturers.

It has a video mode that records nice quality video - just get a tripod to avoid shake! It's hard to hold a small camera still enough. It's a camera that can be slipped in a bag to be carried around every day without adding a bulk of weight or size.

I bought the camera from Pixmania via Amazon to replace my wife's Nikon P4 which had developed a fault.

After carefully charging the battery and following the Getting Started instructions the camera refused to switch on so returned it to Pixmania and got a refund.

I was probably unlucky but it seems that Fuji have some quality control problems to address.

I bought this camera for my daughter Christmas 08. She has taken hundreds of photos of great quality. It is a great size and very compact for what it does. The screen size is lovely as you can see the photo well and are able to zoom in very close. The video quality, including audio, is very good bearing in mind this not its main purpose.

The only problem is that she stopped using the case after a while and just left it at the bottom of her bag. It would appear that it has now accumulated some sort of grit in the lens, which is common amongst all cameras, so would recommend that you keep this, or any, camera in a case.

Great value for money.
