Good but needs tweeks 1 April 2008
Straight out of the box the pictures from this camera will disapoint. You do need to go into the menus and set some of the defaults. The ISO as standard is set far too high which produces noise on the pictures. You also need to understand what the differant options on the option dial do and which one to use. The menu does take a little work to get used to but it is worth spending a few minutes to get the best. Take a little time when you first get any camera to try all the differant settings and compare the results. After all it costs nothing and will save disapointment when you use it for real. But back to the results, well they are good so far as long as you select the right option. The flash pictures are particully good with a very even spread of light. The few outdoor ones I have taken are looking good with very natural colours and good light balance. The focus on macro is something I have not got worked out yet but there does not seem to be much problem with distortion. The quality of the camera body is not as good as my old Sony but that was a lot more money and there are not real issues. The size is handy but I am finding probelms with finding room for fingers, I guess thats a common problem now. I like the fact it has a proper battery not AA torch ones. The duel memory slot is also a good feature. Over all this is a good camera with a quality sensor. I do like the fact that there is an alternative to the pixel race and the noise that brings.

Great Camera 3 Jun 2008
My husband bought me this camera for my birthday. I wanted a small camera that would fit inside my handbag or my husbands pocket! I did what the other review suggested and played around with it before taking it away on holiday.

I am so pleased with this camera. Im a novice photographer but the photos i have taken so far are fantastic.Particularly close ups of flowers and sunsets (The north devon location probably helped too!)

The camera battery is fab and downloading onto my PC is a doddle.

Like most people I fancied a slim camera to take on holidays e.t.c.. I did have (and still have) an old Fuji 2MP camera which I think gives great results. Having tried the camera in a shop, the pictures looked great through the back screen so I bought it. Only when I put some pictures on the PC and printed did I realise how blurry the images were. I have tried all the settings but with the same results, and i still rate my old 2MP better than this for image quality. The camera is great for size, weight and multiple settings, and it gives OK results but I expected so much more from a 9MP fuji. If anybody has had the same problem and rectified it I would like to know how because as cameras go, it is pretty cool apart from the image quality. Finally the best thing is the mega battery life, it goes on and on
