I was in the process of loading my photos into my PC and decided to take the opportunity to tidy up my card, deleting files that I no longer needed. I put the card back into the camera to be told that the camera didn't think the card was initialised. I had to reformat the card. I did so in the camera, took some test shots and put the card back in to the reader - to be told that my PC didn't recognise it. Back into the camera, to be told the card wasn't initialised... Looking at the small print at around page 60 of my Finepix 410 manual, I discovered that all editing of the card should be done through the camera, not the PC, as it risks corrupting the card. Too late for me. I've discovered that the card can still be used by plugging the camera directly into the PC (rather than using a card reader) but this really negates the advantages of having such a small memory card in the first place.
I'm new to the world of digital photography, so perhaps it's just my naivety that's to blame. But a clearer word up front would have saved a lot of trouble. Full marks to the card, minus one mark for the trouble caused by having insufficiently clear advice in the instruction manual.
