Product Description

Product Description
Everyone can relate to F**k It. The Times. Saying Fuck It is like a massage for the mind: relaxing you, releasing tension, allowing you to give up on things that aren't working. Just starting to say Fuck It can transform your life. And John C. Parkin argues that saying Fuck It is a spiritual act: that it is the perfect western expression of the eastern ideas of letting go, giving up and finding real freedom by realising that things don't matter so much (if at all). This is the Fuck It way.

About the Author
John C. Parkin, the son of Anglican preachers, realised that saying Fuck It was as good as all the eastern spiritual practices he d been studying for 20 years. Having said Fuck It to a top job in London, he escaped to Italy to set up the retreat centre The Hill That Breathes, where he now teaches regular Fuck It Weeks with his wife Gaia. He writes regularly on his website (thefuckitway.com) and has been featured on TV, such as The Graham Norton Show, and in the national press, including The Guardian, The Observer, The Times, Psychologies, Cosmopolitan and Red Magazine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good - Funny and very useful, 27 Dec 2008
Bought this book for my partner and guess what, I read it first, finished it two days after Xmas - had a quick peek and then couldn't stop reading. The book is written in a funny and entertaining way, so you won't get bored. And the F It way IS the way - there's a lot of things that might be a bit too much for some people, but as the author states "PICK AND CHOOSE", so read the book, have a think about what's applicable in your life and go for it. This goes to all the bad reviews - very likely you haven't read the book from A-Z, that would change your mind. but anyway, spend more time on this review that it's worth it so F it!. enjoy your chilled out way of living your life.

3.0 out of 5 stars Witty, inspiring, disappointing, slightly annoying, skippable, generally enjoyable, 28 Feb 2009
By D. Elsted "lernErleben" (Germany) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is the order of feelings I went through when reading this book. It is clear that he wants people to free their minds, to take a step back and gain perspective, and for that I am thankful. It is a fascinating idea and a provocative wake up call, but, while justifying the simplicity of his idea, he lets himself down by being dismissive about views that are at the essence of some people's being. And, then, at the end, he lists all of these relaxation exercises, which to me just seem tagged on and don't really fit, nice though they are. Still, I would recommend (and have recommended) people to buy it, just so he can fulfill his chocolate house dream ;)

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Cover; OK inside, 20 Dec 2008
By Mr. David R. Cage - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
The cover is very good indeed and should help sell the book. The book itself is OK and maybe worth a read but its not memorable and after reading through I'm left with a shrug of the shoulders ; was it worth reading... and what the hell is he trying to say that cannot be said in one page.

"Dont sweat the small stuff" though old is more powerful and better written.

Marketing-wise F***it (whats the point in having such a bold title if you cant print it) has been fortunate,as 2009 is going to be a year when people will need the message to "not give a damm" but there must (and are/will) be better books.
