I bought this book for my son, an excellent "chef" who is very good at his craft and enthusiastic about trying unsual and old recipes as well as trying out new ideas.
He was absolutely delighted with the book and intends to try out as many recipes as he can. I would therefore recommend this book to any "foodie"!!!

I bought this book this year because there has been such a bumper harvest of hedgerow fruits like mirabelles, rose hips, sloes, etc. I wanted some ideas beyond the basic jelly and jam which I have elsewhere - and this book has that - recipes for using fruits such as elderberries in desserts, spiced conserves etc. Each fruit also has an introduction with historical background information which I did not know. I am glad I will now have this book on my shelf as I can see myself turning to it again at thois time of year!

Excellent book very informative. recipes are easy to follow and very tasty to eat.
Will certainly be trying more next year as fruits come into season.
Would recommend for those wo are a little more adventurous than just home made strawberry jam.

this is exactly the book that I wanted and it covered all the aspects of hedgerow and garden fruits for the beginner.
