Product Description

Product Description
The Souma family and Tohru are still at the Souma family's vacation house. Because Akito is at the other vacation house, the Souma members are obliged to visit Akito everyday. Tohru and Kyo are always left behind. A few days later after Yuki's confession, Yuki tells Tohur to forget about what he told her. Tohru is confused at his sudden change of mind, and she also sees Yuki become more headstrong after his visit with Akito the other day. One day, Tohru finds a horse lying in the grass. Tohur finds that it's Isuzu, Isuzu seems agitated at something, and tries to attack Tohur. The next day, Akito summons Kyo to his vacation house. Kyo and Akito have an argument, and Akito calls Kyo and Tohur "monsters." Tohru, to Akito, is a monster because she is "to good to be true;" a human cannot be unafraid of a monster like Kyo. Over the argument, it's revealed that Kyo is in love with Tohur. However, Kyo knows that Tohur will get hurt if he reveals his love for her, so he lies to Akito. Akito tells Kyo that he has little time left before he is going to be imprisoned. The same night, Akito visits the gang's vacation house to see Tohru. Momiji tries to prevent him from going in, but Tohur meets Akito after protecting Momiji from getting hit. Kureno is introduced as the Bird zodiac to Tohru, and Akito reveals that he is the "god" who controls the entire 12 animals. From that point on, Tohru vows to protect all the 12 zodiacs to lead them through a normal life.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best volume yet!!!, 30 Jul 2005
This is the best issue of fruits basket out! I won't ruin anything major- but you REALLY hate Akito even more in this volume. You finally meet Rin- the horse, and the rooster...and also God...
Things heat up nicely between Tohru and Yuki (Yuki grows balls!!!he kinda acts like his brother now- weird!), and I can really see future volumes containing very sticky, awkward situations for Tohru.
Anyway- buy this or die...
ps. Kyo also gets worked up and realises he loves Tohru- really heart warming plot...

5.0 out of 5 stars Fruits Basket , 16 Jun 2006
Fruits Basket follows the life of orphaned high school student Tohru Honda. When her mother is killed in a car crash she is forced to go and live with her Grandfather. We join the story when she has had to temporarily leave her grandfather's house, unwilling to impose on any of her friends she opts to live in a tent. Despite working herself into the ground she remains cheerful and one day stumbles across a house in the woods in which live some of the mysterious of Sohma family. Feeling sorry for her (after the loss of her tent/home) they invite her to stay and immediately put her to work cleaning up the male dominated household.

Tohru soon learns that the boys of the house are not quite what they seem, they are possessed by the spirits of the zodiac. The story follows the lives of Tohru and the Sohma family, as they deal with each other and a society where neither quite fit in.

Fruits Basket is now finished in Japan and is collected into 20 volumes. In 2003 Tokyopop was urged under huge consumer pressure to translate the series for the U.S. audience and was first translated in 2004. By the fifth issue the manga had taken the title of 'Best Selling Shojo Manga' a worthy credit to this incredibly popular series. This series would form the backbone of any collection and while I'm no where near completing the set I would imagine that I'll collect them all.

Vol.11...
Still at the Sohma family vacation house, Tohru and the gang are obliged to visit Akito everyday because Akito is at the other vacation house. However, day after day relationships get more complicated and forbidden love blossoms. But most importantly Tohru's resolve is hardened when Akito's true identity is revealed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Breathtaking, 1 Sep 2005
Wow, this book in the series really takes you in. A lot happens! It deals with Yuki, Kyo and Akito much more and you discover who the horse and rooster are.
Everyone is on their holidays and a there lot of romantic happenings as well as some moments when you just feel so sorry for some of the characters!
And towards the end, you're gonna love Tohru more for her bravery! ^_^
