Gift for my dad. He was delighted with the fact that it covered trees and fruit bushes in the one.

Just what I wanted 14 Jan. 2012
By Dan C - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I bought this book to upgrade from Fruit and Berries for the Home Garden and got exactly what I was hoping for. I also have the Vegetable Gardener's Bible and was hoping that this book would be just as great for fruit. The book has a lot of color pictures and detailed information on each type of fruit. It's broken down into 4 sections: Getting Started, Berries, Tree Fruits and Nuts and Growing Healthy Fruit. There are large sections on each fruit that tell about different varieties and where they grow best, how to plant and care for the fruit, dealing with pest and disease and harvesting. The last section also contains abundant information on soil, pruning and dealing with pest and disease. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a great source of information on all types of fruits.

not a heavy hitter 16 Dec. 2012

This book does not compare to the depth of information contained within Designing and Maintaining Your Edible Landscape by Kourik or The Apple Grower by Phillips. The Fruit Gardener's Bible is a good overview, but does not contain the depth to get the reader beyond the beginner stage.

Good, esp for northern areas 22 Nov. 2013

Good, but with a bit of a focus on northern climates that I am not interested in, living in California.

Great beginner book on fruit 6 Jun. 2014
By Gil - Published on Amazon.com

I was looking for more specific information on growing fruit trees and didn't find it here. It was a very good book and I wish I would have bought it first but I will keep it for my collection. Nice easy read and packed full of everything a novice gardener needs to know. You can't go wrong with this book.

Welcomed addition to my library. 27 Aug. 2013
By Emily Belle - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
So far,it has answered all my questions about all my fruit trees...and I planted 2 dozen this year! I have sweet and sour cherry, 6 different varieties of apples, 4 different varieties of peaches, a nectarine, & 3 different plums. I now know why some of my cherries died, and how to save the rest. Being new to growing an orchard, this book has become invaluable. It is well worth the price.
