Packed to the rafters with real instruments (therefore sounding more raw and less artificial than lots of other music from this period), the music is, in style, and maybe as you'd expect, similar in many ways to that of Prince's music from the same period, well constructed, soulful where needed but also able to up the tempo and swing it!
From the huge chart hits "Are you my baby" (still one of my favourites) & "Satisfaction" to the non-single tracks such as "Someday I", with it's pounding rhythm and I'm-gonna-make-it lyrics and "I think it was December" with it's bluesy feel, the album is consistantly well performed and is well worth a listen.
