5.0 out of 5 stars Great Home Made Recipes for Creamed Sauce & Soups Too 24 Mar. 2014

I got so excited to get this chicken book, hoping for some new dishes & flavors. I am a complete know-nothing when it comes to cooking, so found I had to go back a few times to learn the difference Sally explains what stock and broth are, and what orange zest is. I am still not sure if there's a difference between a stock pot (mentioned) and crock pot, or if these are regional terms, but she also answered a few of my questions when contacting her, & went over the top to show me pictures of what quinoa is, how pronounced, & where to get.

So I had my guy download this cookbook too, hoping he would make these for me, since I can't even boil water right. I have wondered for years how to make cream of whatever, without buying the can, and she tells how to do that! Also how to make gravy or crispy chicken without using that same Shake n Bake flavor. I was also really excited to learn how to make simple Alfredo sauce without buying the jar, and what makes up taco seasoning without having to settle for the pre-made flavor packets. (My guy is gonna kill me, because this may be a little more work!) So maybe we can do one recipe at a time.

That was funny the way she mentioned chickens not being vegetarian! I like how she added pictures to each recipe heading.

5.0 out of 5 stars ~~Nice Assortment~~ 16 April 2014

From chicken lasagna to Mexican chicken casserole and beyond, this cookbook has an excellent assortment of chicken recipes.

I made the chicken broccoli casserole and thought it was excellent. Basically it is rice, cream of chicken soup, water, chicken breasts and broccoli...

The recipe for the homemade taco seasoning is included at the end and it looks tasty although I haven't made that one yet.

Most highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Frugal yet yummy 17 Mar. 2014

I have just downloaded "Frugal Cooking With Chicken"'. The recipes look wonderful and simple to make. Many remind me of dishes my mama used to make. She too raised a family on a frugal budget and never threw anything out if she could think of a way to use it. I can't wait to serve some of these recipes to my own family.
