Product Description

Product Description

The Canadian Arctic - a frozen land where bone-chilling winds and negative forty degree temperatures can last for days on end.

Matthew and Kayak are familiar with the territory, and they plan carefully before they set out on their secret snowmobile search - a search for Matthew's missing father. But when the boys become stranded, every minute is a struggle for survival.

Based in part on a true story, "Frozen Fire" vividly depicts the traditional Eskimo way of life. It is a story about wisdom, hope, and the will to survive. --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

An Awesome Adventure 25 Dec 1999
By "firewing" - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
This is a great adventure book! It has lots of action, and seems very realistic. I love how the title is explained near the end in a way that I, at least, never thought of and what happens at the very end. This is a great book and a fun read.

Frozen Fire 1 Sep 2000
A Kid's Review - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Frozen Fire is based on a true story about two boys who became lost in the Arctic and had to survive by their wits. Matthew is a boy from Arizona and his friend Kayak is an Eskimo boy. They combine their unique skills to help each other survive the hardships of their ordeal. I recommend this excellent story about friends and survival in the Arctic. It was very exciting.

Frozen Fire Review by Mike Obrzut 12 July 2000
By Christian Kozlowski - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Recommendation - This book takes place in the Arctic wilderness. I would recommend this book for the people between the ages of 12-14 because it presents a wide range of survival events in Alaska that were both exciting and intense. A reason that this book was exciting was the things that Matthew and Kayak ran into in the wilderness. For example, when Matthew sees a helicopter coming to rescue them, Matthew says, "It's turning! The helicopter sees us! They're coming to get us!" Another example of the story being intense is when they both notice a bear is approaching. " Matthew and Kayak lay like dead men on the ice, both their heads turned so that they could watch the bear." In conclusion if you are interested in a friendship and a survival book, pick this one off the self.
