Product Description

Without any harsh chemicals or needles FROWNIES anti-aging Facial Patches assist to soften and smooth wrinkles mechanically. Designed to provide lasting results with continued use. FROWNIES' (FBE) Facial Patches address the physical cause of facial wrinkles between the eyes (sometimes called elevens) and forehead wrinkles. By holding the crease flat and relaxed while you sleep the body can relax muscle memory. The muscles of the face cannot move under the patch, keeping you from frowning or expressing while you sleep. This is Frownies 100 year old anti-wrinkle secret.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good as a temporary measure 28 Aug 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase
Frownies are supposed to train the muscles so you don't use them so much and thus eliminate frown lines. They are very easy to use, even though you look silly with bits of paper stuck to your forehead. When I woke up in the morning indeed my frown line had completely disappeared. This returned though within a few hours. When I had finished the entire box it still only lasted for a few hours.

I think for a special occasion these are fine, but don't expect miracles.
Long term they appear to do nothing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Incredible results - highly recommended 5 Mar 2009
I was dubious about buying these, but I thought that for £16, if it worked, would save me quite a lot compared to the Botox option.

I am 31, and after living in the sun and squinting for a couple of years, a short, deep line had developed between my brows. I tried all kinds of 'filler' creams (the creams that come in a pen shaped applicator) and they did absolutely nothing! I considered Botox, but actually, I think I'm a little too young still to be going down that road... It was when I was watching Meryl Streep in Death Becomes Her, seeing her propped up nt he bed with sticky bits all over her face so she couldn't make any expressions, I decided to experiment with Sellotape over my forehead.. it did 'something' but the results didn't last. So I was becoming DESPERATE. Loath to start sticking gaffer tape over my brows every day, I began looking for an alternative. I can't remember where I heard about Frownies, but I found them on sale here and on Ebay, and decided to send off for a packet. When they arrived, I couldn't wait until bedtime, so I stuck one on there and then and after a couple of hours, desperate to see a result.. the line had disappeared! I wasn't too surprised to see a result as when the Frownie was in place, I could not move my forehead to frown and afterwards, my face relaxes into a serene position, instead of sinking into a frown.
I wouldn't recommend licking them and sticking them on though.... the gum tastes foul and licking them made my forehard a bit spotty! I would also recommend washing the area after you have pulled off the Frownie (the gum really does stick hard to the skin) and stroking a little Anbusol or other antispetic over the area to get any germs out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Frownies 29 Aug 2012
By Karen
I bought these not actually believing they would work. I'm 41 and have got that awful frown line between my eyes which I wanted to do something about. The Frownies are used better at night, sticking between the eyes stopping yourself frowning whilst asleep. It's a bit like sticking a corner of a cardboard envelope to your face every night.
After the first night, first thing in the morning, I noticed my frown line much softer, but obviously once you start frowning again it is back.
But.. after using them for a few weeks, I have noticed a big difference. I work from home and spend a lot of time on the computer, so decided to also use them during the day as well as night (at least there was no-one to see me..) and what I have noticed is that whilst I am wearing them, I am very aware when I try to frown as I can feel the sticky pads pulling on my skin. So I immediately stop frowning. And I have now found that I am much more aware of when I am frowning and I am gradually doing it less and less. It's like the muscles in my forehead have been re-trained.
I have definitely noticed a big difference that my frown line is not so deep and other people have also noticed.
So the Frownies do not actually get rid of the frown lines, they just make you more aware when you do frown. And frowning less over a few days definitely makes a difference.
I would definitely recommend these.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Frownies 9 Jun 2010
By Nousha
I love this product - I have been using it on and off for 2 years. If I notice frown lines starting to appear I use it for 3 months everynight. It works - my frown lines go! Cheaper than botox - you have to use it consistantly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Frownies - an alternative to Botox 4 Aug 2008

Frownies Corners of Eyes & Mouth - 144 Pads

This really did reduce the fairly deep frown which was developing in my forehead (I'm 45). It's now (almost) smooth! It works by training the muscles in the face to relax while you're asleep. Put one on before bed - you can lick it and stick it in place, then gently peel it off in the morning. It took affect after about 2 or 3 weeks and I keep on using them them to keep the frown away...

4.0 out of 5 stars Weird - but also rather wonderful 28 Feb 2013

It's difficult to know where to start with reviewing these things. I've tried any number of eye pads/patches/treatments, etc which are supposed to minimise lines. The good news is that Frownies are miles cheaper than anything else I've seen, and once I received them, it was easy to understand why. Imagine tearing off a bit of the adhesive flap from a brown envelop, wetting it and sticking it on your face you'll get the general idea... Sophisticated these things are not. They come on a strip, with perforations, and you just tear off the bits you want (don't bother buying the different ones for eyes/forehead, they are basically exactly the same and either with do for which ever area you want). The idea is that they remove wrinkles by mechanically smoothing the skin and holding it smooth (ie, you have to stretch out the lines before you stick them on). They recommend using a special spray to dampen them, but I used tap water, which works fine. You will feel like a right idiot with them stuck all over your face and they are not very comfortable. They recommend you sleep with them on (I would suggest a time when the rest of your family is away, if you ever want to live down the ridicule), or a minimum period of 3 hours. I managed only two hours, as I found them so uncomfortable and, to be honest, was so sceptical they would do anything, decided to give up. They are not particularly easy to get off - you are meant to soak them, which I didn't do enough, so it was more like ripping off a plaster (as a bonus, you won't have to worry any more about that mono brow after you've used 'em) but - and this came as a great surprise - they really, really worked........I cannot remember the last time the skin around my eyes was so smooth and line free. Seriously.... Read more ›
