About the Author
As a team of veteran travel writers, Darwin Porter and Danforth Prince have produced numerous titles for Frommer’s including guides to Italy, France, the Caribbean, Spain, Germany, and England. Porter wrote the first–ever Frommer’s Guide to Scandinavia and has been covering the destination ever since. He is also the co–author of Frommer’s Norway, Frommer’s Denmark, and Frommer’s Scandinavia, and is also a film critic, columnist, broadcaster, and Hollywood biographer. Prince, formerly of the Paris bureau of The New York Times, has been a frequent Scandinavia traveler and researcher since 1980. This is a recently revised guide to Sweden so you can be confident that the information is up to date. It is like most of the Frommer's guides - well organised and set out with plenty of suggestions and advice. I sometimes prefer Frommer to Lonely Planet and/or the Rough Guides which seem to dominate the market for travel guides. With Frommer, you don't have to pretend that you're not a tourist and enjoy comfort and want to buy souvenirs.

That may be obvious but it rankled for us as we are british, it assumes you are american descendants from swedish forefathers. I wanted a guide that covered all of southern sweden and this included some places that others available to me at the time did not. However i found when i got there i could not correlate the book with the reality, but okay on others.

I had this book on my Kindle Fire during a trip to Sweden and Norway during the fall of 2012. I found it especially useful because of the searchability of an e-book. It worked very well and I found the information accurate in all cases where I had a chance to test it.
