We live in Germany and are always looking for things to do for a day trip or weekend. This book really breaks things down and even tells you how long to spend in each city. We look forward to this coming weekend when we can put it to good use!

2.0 out of 5 stars Much better (and physically lighter!) books available! 4 Dec 2011
By Charles Green - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
First, this is a heavy book and a real pain to carry around as you sightsee. Indeed it does try to cover all of Germany. And in that it fails (for example the city of Leipzig has soo much more to offer than this book lets on, totally skipping the fantastic museum Das Zeitgeschichtliche Forum which covers the history of East Germany 1945-1989 under communist rule. And the annual Christmas Market is one of the best in Germany in a beautiful town square setting). I should have stuck to Fodors Pocket guides which have been great for me in the past for major cities ( I love their suggested walking tours). Overall an extremely unwieldy, badly indexed book.
