About the Author
Mark Hiss is a third–generation Southern Californian who has spent more than 25 years in San Diego. He was founding editor of both the visitor guide Where San Diego and Performances, the playbill magazine for the city′s leading performing arts venues. He is also author of Frommer′s San Diego Day by Day, coauthor of Frommer′s California Day by Day, and a contributor to Frommer′s California. In a previous life he was a publicist who worked for several of San Diego’s top theater companies.

We used this travel guide for a week's trip during easter and thorougly enjoyed it. Good descriptions and recommendations. We especially liked the ranking of the places of particular interest; 1-3 stars were given to the highly recommended sights. We will buy Frommer's guides in the future as well.

I have been living in San Diego for 2 years, and I bought this book to master San diego in depth because i am planning to leave for my country. ( Yes, I am a Foreigner.)
Well, this book is great travel guide book- well-organised, easy to read, has family oriented tour guides as well as it didn't forget to put good spots for things to do / go at night. Above all, what's good about this book is that this book is really up to date as it says Frommer's San Diego 2012. I went a place that is currently closed. I checked that book and the book was correct. So if you are looking for this kind of book for San diego? Why not?
