About the Author

Christina Paulette Colón has three great passions in life: nature, teaching, and travel. She has been everywhere from Borneo (where she lived for 2 years) to Bonaire. With a Ph.D. in Ecology and a Master′s in Environmental Education, she is a talented educator, an accomplished writer, and an experienced editor (of everything from scientific articles to children’s books). Alexis Lipsitz Flippin is a freelance writer and former Frommer′s senior editor. She is the author of Frommer′s Portable St. Maarten/St. Martin, Anguilla & St. Barts and Frommer′s Portable Turks & Caicos and has written and edited for consumer magazines including Self, American Health, and Rolling Stone. John Marino, the author of Frommer′s Puerto Rico, lives in San Juan, where he covers local and political news for the San Juan Star as city editor. He has written about Puerto Rico for the New York Times, Conde Nast Traveler, and other publications. A team of veteran travel writers, Darwin Porter and Danforth Prince have produced various titles for Frommer′s including guides to Italy, France, Spain, England, and Germany. They have long covered the Caribbean "beat." Porter, in fact, once worked on a pioneering Frommer′s guide called The Caribbean on $5 to $10 a Day. He wrote the first–ever edition of Frommer′s Caribbean and, along with Prince, has also produced books to other islands—Jamaica, Barbados, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, the Dominican Republic, the Cayman Islands, Bermuda, and the Bahamas.

4.0 out of 5 stars Frommers guide to Caribbean 19 Dec 2010
By I. Avrunin - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
We wanted to go somewhere warm during the Winter this year and decided to go to a Caribbean Island. There are a lot of them but we settled on Curacao because of its European based culture. Not knowing anything about it, I searched for a guide just on Curacao, but without too much success so I settled on this one. Overall it is well done and provided the information I needed. I noticed that there are many referenced to web sites and I found that extremely useful information to have. Would recommend Frommers guide as a good general reference.

5.0 out of 5 stars Helpful guide to all the islands 15 Jan 2011

Thus far I have only used the guide for my recent trip to Grand Cayman. I found it helpful & would have been even more so had I not already had hotel reservations & flights. I used the restaurant reviews & was pleased. The general notes were helpful as well. I belive this guide will come in handy each time I am planning a warm weather getaway to the Caribbean.
