5.0 out of 5 stars The Only Guide You'll Need! 24 Sep 2011
By J. Zakary - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I think it's worth mentioning first that I've lived in Vienna as a student for over three years, so I think I can offer some perspective on the usefulness of this guide.

I think it's an excellent book that offers a true insight into what it feels like to experience such a beautiful country. It's more than just a collection of events, and locations. The guide offers the reader a fascinating glimpse into Austria's culture, art, and history.

The reviews given to the hotels, restaurants, and attractions that I have personally visited are completely accurate in every way, offering comprehensive and helpful information.

I honestly believe if you traveling to Austria, this is the only book you need!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very useful for visiting multiple locations in Austria 28 Oct 2012
By Linda - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
If you plan to purchase just one guidebook and will visit multiple sights in Austria, this book will meet your needs very well. There are well-written, comprehensive descriptions of various cities and their hotels, signts, etc. The book contains many small maps within the pages for various cities; these can help you get around once you're at a location and proved useful for finding restaurants. We selected this guidebook over similar guidebooks available from Amazon after looking at some of the pages inside. The only shortcoming was that this guidebook didn't include Reutte, a nice place to stay in Austria if you plan to head north to Germany to visit the Mad Duke's castles (we only found that in an older version of Rick Steve's books).

We also purchased the smaller guidebooks for Vienna and Salzburg. If you have the finances and luggage space to bring along more than one guidebook, we recommend that approach. It's nice to have the smaller guidebook along in a backpack, much easier to find what you're looking for on the spot, and these little guidebooks turned out to be plenty informational for planning our visits also. If you plan to visit more than one city, though, the Frommer's Austria ia a very good choice.
