Book Description

Fromage Afraid is the first ebook by author Glen King, an author writing especially for the Kindle generation. This book is a collection of 42 short stories written for your enjoyment and entertainment. Short enough to read in a stolen moment - on the tram, a bus, during a coffee break; but complex enough to capture the imagination.

How can we describe the tales that make up such a varied anthology? Well, some will make you smile and some will make you gasp in horror. Some are based in Nottingham and others in distant worlds. We can’t guarantee you will find the meaning of life contained within them. But we are pretty sure you will be made to think. And, of course, to be entertained.

And at less than 2p a tale this book is tremendous value!

Oh, and a warning, gentle reader. Very strong language is used throughout and many tales have an adult theme.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Nottingham gem 8 Nov. 2012

I really liked this collection. I do a lot of my reading on the bus to and from work, so this eclectic mix of short stories really fitted the bill. I loved the humour and emotion and was quite sad when I finished the last tale.

Great debut Glen - more soon please.

5.0 out of 5 stars Made in Nottingham 13 Oct. 2012

This collection of short stories by Nottingham author Glen King is his first book, but I'm pretty sure it won't be his last. The book contains 42 stories in all and what a varied collection they are - ranging from darkly humorous to laugh out loud funny to deeply poignant. Stand out moments are 'The Last Shootout' which manages to be heartbreakingly sad while keeping that light, humorous touch which Glen King is so good at, and "Touch" which brings together two unlikely individuals. A great book and hopefully the first of many from Glen King.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent 15 Jan. 2015
I enjoyed the tales which Glen contributed to Stories In Sandstone and was pleased to see that he had his own book too. Excellent stuff.
