A very diverse book in which the American writer, David Frawley, explores many different elements of the vast religion that is Hinduism. The book delves into not only the basic teaching of Hinduism but also, in considerable detail, into Ayurvedic medicine and healing, astrology, cosmology, science, social structure, language and mantra, reincarnation, worship, yoga and scriptures. With its different facets, the book has something to offer all and David Frawley points out that he is trying to bring out a universal element in spirituality the world over. Accessible and well researched, the book will appeal equally to readers with a general interest and those pursuing an academic study into any of the above

This is one of the few books that presents the comlexity of vedic and Hindu thought, knowledge and techniques in a clear, insightful and simple manner. It makes the reader get a level of comfort right from the beginning which very few authors tend to achieve in writing a book. Even people not having any familiarity or are vague with concepts of Hindu religion and astrologcial groundings can get good insight and satisfactory knowledge from this book.
