Being the first F1 season review ever released, as a previous reviewer mentions, they'd obviously not figured out exactly what everyone wanted from it. The first half hour is taken up with profiles of each driver, no information, just a mug shot. A load of pit stops, each start in the season back to back and a load of other pointless stuff! Despite the attention to behind the scenes detail, no mention is made during the season of new cars/drivers in teams. The arrival of the revolutionary McLaren MP4/1 isn't given a single sentence.
The actual highlights of the racing are fantastic and 1981 was a vintage year. Villeneuve battling in a dog of a Ferrari two unforgettable wins and quite possibly the bravest third place in a soaking wet Canadian grand prix minus a front wing. The battles between Prost, Piquet, Jones and Reutemann are also the stuff of legend.
All in all, I'd say it's well worth having.
