This film is EXCELLENT. Its about a cat that comes crashing down to earth and is trying to get back to his planet. This cat isn't your usual puss he has a special collar which makes people fly and for any sports game to win! Disney's older films are put down a lot but there quite a lot of gems out there! Like The Apple Dumpling Gang. The cast in this film are really good too.

The movie itself was, in my opinion, one of the best. Funny, entertaining, and I loved the cat. But even if you don't love cats, the story is still great with good-humoured pokes at authority-figures, but done nicely! The hero, an 'ordinary' guy, and his friend and girl-friend, all come through to the happy ending, after some considerable fun along the way. If you liked 'ET' chances are you'd like this.
The disc itself (region 0) had widescreen on one side and letterbox on the other, some reviewers mention difficulty in playing, but my copy of the disc played faultlessly on my laptop and on my (non-digital) TV, both sides.
A disc to be savoured and re-played - I've already watched it several times. For me, an ideal escapist tonic.

It's been a while looking for this film as you can't find here in the UK and had to resolve in buying it on region 1.

For me this review is nostalgic more than anything else. But a cat with a magic space collar that makes him talk and can do anything from making a horse win a race to playing pool to win money is genius.

Also as an adult you appreciate how hard it must have been to get a cat to anything.

There's nothing not to like about this.

I was watching my rather fuzzy 1980's video copy of this that my mum taped for my sisters and I in about 1986! It was left to record through the advert breaks too which are almost as good as the film!
It is the story of Jake the alien cat and his attempts to fix his damaged space ship before the US military and some nefarious spies get their mits on his magical telepathic collar.
Usually live action Disney films are a bit rubbish, but this is fab, although that could be me being over nostalgic!
If they do release it in the UK, they should put the vintage TV ads on as a special feature :)
