4.0 out of 5 stars Older children can see how fabric is made 4 May 1998
By A Customer
Format:Perfect Paperback
As a quilter, I enjoyed the information in this book. It is especially useful in helping make decisions on purchasing and using our fabrics. An added extra is my showing children the process by which cotton becomes fabric - the machinery is well photographed and helps children get a visual picture.

I work with fabric and am very pleased with this book. It is a comprehensive study on what happens from the time cotton is a boll to what happens to make it into a bolt of the wonderful cotton fabric we quilters love so much! Very interesting for anyone who works with fabric!

5.0 out of 5 stars If only it would be reissued 9 Aug 2007
By reader and maker - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Perfect Paperback
This is a well researched and written book on an important issue for quilters who care about their work lasting for future generations. I hope the publisher will consider asking the author to update it and reissue the book for the current generation of new quilters who would benefit as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have for serious quilters 11 Dec 2004

This book goes into detail about how fabric is made, and the differences this causes. I consider it a must have book for the library of anyone who is serious about making quality quilts and recognizing quality fabric.
3.0 out of 5 stars Very Technical 22 Jun 2014
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
There was quite a bit of technical information in here, honestly more than I expected to find. I learned quite a bit from it, but diagram after diagram of the ENTIRE process (all of the equipment, rollers, etc) I quite honestly lost interest in the book. While there is information to be learned from it, I could have done without off of the technical aspects.
4.0 out of 5 stars This Book has ALL the Information You Need to Select the Right Tools for a Quality Result! 19 July 2013
By Cathy Jo Gormley - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Perfect Paperback|Verified Purchase
A text that includes the basics of the process of making fabric, threads, and batting which enhances ones ability to chose and care for the proper product to produce quality results. The needle, thread, fabric, and batting compatibility charts are extremely helpful in assisting to select the tool for the use intended!
