Product Description

Ghosts? Angels? Aliens? This collection of short tales concerns entities which could be any of these. Could they really exist? Or are they only part of our imagination?

About the stories…

“Them”. Captured. Studied. Humiliated. A story of alien abduction from the victim's point of view.

“The Long View” concerns one woman’s reflections on the life she has left behind. But is all as it seems?

“The Hearing” explores what happens when a guardian angel is put on trial.
“Forbidden” is a story about the most illicit of love affairs – the secret passion between an angel and a demon.

“The Foundling”. Who or what exactly has appeared on the doorstep an old woman’s cottage in Ireland? Abandoned child, or something else?

From Elsewhere also features “Grey Eyes In Silver”, where a discarded mirror brings more than just everyday reflections.

4.0 out of 5 stars Some very delightful short stories 26 Jun 2013

I received this book from the author for an honest review. I truly enjoyed this book. It wasn't at all what I would have thought. There were nice little twists with each of the short stories. I think my favorite was The Hearing, which I have actually recapped when speaking with some of my friends about it - a courtroom setting with a trial between a man (the plaintiff) and his guardian angel (the defendant). Very intriguing little tales, that I would thoroughly recommend. Also I look forward to reading other books by Mark Knight.
5.0 out of 5 stars Writing Like We Haven't Seen In Quite Awhile 19 Feb 2013

With excellent writing Mark Knight takes us on a journey through six short stories that will capture your attention. His style seems to to remind you of a Twilight Zone episode and yet his stories have a modern feel to them. I have always enjoyed surpises in short stories especially in the ending but I seem to guess before the story is half way through but not these little gems. While I will not review all his stories so you can savor them yourself I will mention two. Them, the story about alien abduction has a unique story line unlike one I have ever seen before. It starts out like something you might have read before but quickly changes into a new perspective and the ending well, it's quite a slap. When I reached the ending I looked up and thought of how clever it ended. The Angel story called 'The Hearing' was one I was going to skip because I thought it would be Religious or too immature but sure enough the writer surprised me again. How the Angel comes to be in a court of hearing is something you won't forget and has parallels to things in our daily lives but with the odd twist. The other stories are just as great. Highly recommed this little jewel of short stories.
