Product Description

Jeff Harshbarger is a former Satanist. His attempts at suicide went astonishingly wrong, and his encounter with Jesus helped him get free from Satan's shackles. This book exposes Satan's schemes and shows the reader how to rescue someone they love from occult bondage. Jeff is now considered to be one of the world's leading experts on the occult. Thousands of people have sought his help for those they love. This informative and helpful book provides help and hope for those who are caught up in Wicca, witchcraft, vampirism, Satanism and other realms of darkness. The President of Cleansing Stream Ministries, Chris Hayward, writes, "Jeff Harshbarger tells the unvarnished truth about the occult. Through his personal story, you'll understand why and how a person is easily drawn into the dark side. More important, Jeff teaches you how to join with God to help break the strongholds that bind someone there. His no-nonsense approach explodes the myths of ghost stories and vampire movies. This is the real stuff. From Darkness to Light is a simple, comprehensive must-read for anyone who wants to rescue a loved one from the occult." 152 pages

Powerful! 29 April 2013
By Josh Gibson - Published on Amazon.com
Jeff Harshbarger, in his book From Darkness to Light, depicts the real and present danger of occult influence in today's culture. The first half of the book is dedicated to Jeff's personal testimony of his life in Satanism and his salvation experience. He shares the struggles, the torment, the pain, and the questions he had while he was in the occult and also shares the radical transformation he experienced when giving his life to Christ. Now, he and his wife Liz Harshbarger, have made it a mandate to equip the Body of Christ to understand occult influences in our world today and how to reach out to these people with the most powerful weapon of our warfare, love. This leads into the second portion of the book which gives basic information on various occult practices and their beliefs. Also included in the book are strategic keys on reaching out to occultists in today's society. Along with Jeff's other book, Dancing with the Devil, I highly recommend this book. It will change you life. I believe it. This book is designed to equip you and empower you to be knowledgeable about the dangers of the occult but most importantly how to reach out to occultists. You will not be disappointed with your purchase. In fact, buy a few copies and give them to your friends. Powerful book!

A story of freedom, through a simple approach. 13 Mar 2013
By Jeff McLain - Published on Amazon.com
"From Darkness to Light; How to Rescue Someone You Love From the Occult", is a book freshly released this month through upcoming publishers, Bridge Logos. This published work was released by authors Jeff Harshbarger and Elizabeth Harshbarger, but is actually a much needed revised and updated work from a book titled just "From Darkness to Light" in which was released in April of 2011, also on Bridge Logos.

I had the chance to sit down and enjoy this well designed book yesterday. I always love to sit down and hear a person's story, over a fresh cup of coffee. However, because this story comes as a book, I decided to still sit down and enjoy this autobiographical story at one of my favorite coffee shops in downtown Lancaster (Cafe One Eight). It didn't take me long to read this captivating piece from cover to cover. It's a rather easy read, that tells the authors story well in less than one hundred and fifty two pages. Though, it's an easy read and part autobiographical, the second half of the book is so informative, you may find yourself sitting it on your shelf for the occasional use as a reminder or reference.

As I mentioned, this book is basically divided into a necessary two part approach. The first half of the book is a mere ten chapters that accurately capture the author's journey and a lifetime of stories and experience in just 59 pages. Jeff Harshbarger visualizes his upbringing and the struggles he had in the beginning years of his life's journey and he painfully admits how that had affected, severed and shaped him. As a young man with confusing complexes of being needed and needing purpose, he had experienced some things we may define as paranormal and started to `harmlessly' experiment with some things often classified with the occult. As he became more and more engaged with these things, he turned to the guidance of a man in his neighborhood who was a self- identified worker of magic and servant of Satan It was after moving in with him that Jeff Harshbarger felt needed and found what he believed was his needed purpose. The first half of this book discusses how he ended up there, what he succumbed to during that era and what he experienced within these dark moments of his life. It was during this era of his life that Jeff classified and defined himself as a `Satanist'. It also intimately paints the rescuing hope he came across suddenly, as the prayers and love of some simple Christians changed everything he thought he knew and wanted. During this era Jeff also mentions a crazy encounter with the Kingdom of God and the glory of Jesus in his backyard - which put him on the journey out of his peers and quest to be enthralled by demonic forces. His story is honest and engaging. It's a story anyone will find interesting. However, the only weak part of this first half of the story is the fact that he did not spend enough time (for me) describing what his encounter with the glory of Jesus looked like in that moment in his backyard. It seemed to be a pivotal encountering moment of change in which I wish he spent time on portraying this encounter a little more. However, his story is a good one and it's not an overly sensationalized piece of exaggeration with big claims or bragging rights. It's an honest first hand look at his life and the dangerous grasps he entangled himself with in a search for identity. It's an honest prophetic look and warning for us with kids, involved in church and reaching out to our neighbors in similar identity crises.

Jeff Harshbarger is now an ordained Minister and holds Master's degrees in both youth ministry and Christian Counseling. A few years ago, he started Refuge Ministries as a solidifying attempt to reach out and help those who are involved in grasps of dark forces. Some of you may remember a review I did on Jeff Harshbarger's book, `Dancing With The Devil', which was a collective of people's stories that were involved in these occult forces and have successfully found freedom. (Discover My Review Here)

His passionate heart to speak life and hope into the lives of those who struggle with the very things he was once entangled with is the very reason he felt required to compose the second part of this book. The second part of this book is called, "How to Rescue Someone you Love From The Occult". This is the part of the book that will have you putting this published work on your bookshelf as a reference piece to pull from time to time. The authors skillfully explain to their readers the background information on the occult and it's many active branches. It breaks down the dangerous grasps, historical background, common symbols and modern influence of Satanism, Wicca, Witchcraft, Neo-Paganism, Druids, Shamanism, Native American Religion, Kabbalah, Vampires, Goths and much more.

The authors end the book with simple tasks to show a rescuing love and approach to those you know in the occult and the testimonial success stories of those they've helped bring out of these dark places.

Though it seems I've read quite a few books on the Occult lately, which is not a topic I normally engage in - I still find myself glad that I read this book. I am equally glad to now have this book sitting on my bookshelf for future use as a reminder of how a simple searching experimentation can end you up in such dark grasp and as a reminder to the background on these dark grasps and how I can identify someone's involvements in them to reach out in a simple love and approach to them.

Good resource on the occult 6 Dec 2014
By Joel D. Weber - Published on Amazon.com

I am thankful for Christians such as Jeff, that are willing to offer us their experiences and lives as examples of God's
mighty power to rescue the lost. And if you have been tied-up in the powers of darkness, in the magick of Wicca, in
Satanism, in earth worship... then let yourself listen to Jeff's story (life).

What we see is an emotional snapshot at what drives us to the occult - pride mostly. But when life is difficult, many seek
a place to gain control over their lives, they seek power over others and a sort of fulfilling acceptance. But none of these
can be found, ultimately, outside of God. All the power that you can experience without God, is a power over which you
have no control - and emanates from beings who hate you and God.

See if this story echoes your own struggles, your own emptiness, your own search for something beyond yourself. Jeff
offers a few pages at end of book to evidence the occult (seeking and serving demonic beings) in other religions or
practices, that may prove enlightening: Voodoo, Druids, Shamans, Native American, Santeria and of course Satanism.

This book reads easily and quickly. Jeff's struggles in life can be empathized with and each one of us might have been
at some point, led to similar thoughts and actions. (this is not an encyclopedia of the occult, nor an academic treatise -
but a true account of Jeff's life and struggle with the powers of darkness).
The book ends with some helpful pages on how to assist someone you think or know to be controlled by evil power. Again,
these are not heavy handed, systematic or didactic in nature - but rather gently remove stereotypes and offer each
Christian confidence to love, pray and interact with the demonically oppressed.
