Book Description

1 Jun 2012
From Bump to Baby contains inspirational stories from real women about being pregnant, giving birth and what being a mum really means. Natasha Harding, Sun journalist, yoga teacher and mother of six-year-old Zak has interviewed mums and dads to create this unique guide to pregnancy and motherhood. It's packed full of ready-to-use tips and great advice and wonderful real stories making it an invaluable guide for mums (and dads) everywhere. Topics discussed include: Where will I have my baby? Is having a home birth safe? I've got to have a caesarean - have I failed already? I'm scared of labour - what can I do? How does my partner feel? I just want me back - is that normal? This written-from-the-heart book tells the truth about having a baby and is a must-read for all women. "Despite all the scare stories women hear, it is still possible to have an empowering and positive labour. Natasha makes a valuable contribution to encouraging and supporting the women who still wish to try." Emma Cannon author of The Baby-Making Bible

5.0 out of 5 stars inclusive and embracing 26 Sep 2012

Honest, frank and straightforward, I found Natasha Harding's book a refreshing and reassuring insight into every stage of pregnancy. Her style is so easy to read and I loved how her own experiences were interspersed with anecdotes from other women, making this a really inclusive and embracing bedside bible. Natasha counters the scare-mongering too often associated with giving birth in the Western world, yet manages to remain realistic and faithful to the rainbow of journeys different women take. I particularly liked the section written from the father's/partner's point of view, again giving the book such wide scope and taking care to involve everybody associated with the pregnancy, not just mother and child. This is a super book and I would recommend it to anyone expecting a baby.

5.0 out of 5 stars Honest and helpful advice 4 Sep 2012

Format:Paperback
This book is just so lovely. As most of the book is made up of first hand stories, the reader gets a very honest view of labour and birth. I wish I had read this book during my first pregnancy as it would have made me much more prepared. It also makes you realise that labour does not have to be the scary ordeal that it is often made out to be. I would recommend this to anyone expecting a baby as a refreshing alternative to the usual pregnancy books with real life hints and tips.
