SATH Resources Review

A very readable book...Anyone wishing to update their original Layton text will certainly not be disappointed with this new edition.

Product Description

This second edition has been thoroughly updated to provide comprehensive and accessible coverage of German history from the Kaiserreich through to the collapse of the Weimar Republic. Events and issues arising from the period are covered in depth, including the domestic and foreign policies of Imperial Germany, the First World War and revolution, the founding of the Weimar Republic and the rise of the Nazis. Whilst focusing mainly upon domestic affairs the book also highlights how external factors influenced events in Germany. The study guides have been comprehensively revised and provide a firm basis for answering source-based and essay questions.

The book combines both summary and detail. It is divided into easily managed sections and has Study Guide and essay questions at the end of each section which helps more than you'd believe! It's a great read, not too complex but detailed enough to help with any essay on the time between 1890-1933. If you do 'A' level history- it's a must!

Does exactly what it says on the tin! A well-written introduction to post-Bismarck Germany, with some good diagrams and questions. Well worth getting hold of, whether it's for A-level or undergraduate use.

This is a great book, written by Layton; he challenges the normal arguments and puts forwards ideas that you may never have considered. It offers a good, sound narrative, along with Laytons modernistic views of Germany at this time. A great read.
