This is one of those joyful CDs/DVDs where the playing leaps out at you: and not everything Wynton Marsalis does has this feature. Richard Galliano's piano accordion playing augments and adds to the quartet. I would buy this CD just for the version of Piaf's "Padam, Padam".

Very good cd and dvd.I love the staight ahead sax on Them There Eyes.I was lucky enough to see Wynton with the Lincoln Centre Orch in Manchester recently and to see and hear the drummer and bass player from this cd live was something else.Well worth buying.

I have listened this album many dozens of times always with enjoyment. Great arragements, great themes and great solos by masters Galliano and Marsalis. Amazing musicians on the Marsalis Quintet as well, just loved those piano solos!

This was as fantastic as Wyntons LCJO brief concert for kids in Hackney Empire - unexpected musicality and invention.
The tenor sax solos are superb, the accordion playing is amazing and the group blends some fantastic harmonies.
The only criticism for me are the piano players' odd showcases that don't always fit. My wife liked the camera work on his hands to see the technique!
BUT that's almost something that makes it a stronger performance, the flavour changes. I've never heard the accordion played in tune before, let alone like this.
I give the content 6 from 5 and the item value 6 from 5. This was an excellent performance, even with bandages on his finger.....
