My two-and-half year-old son and I love this book. The illustrations of the lovely frog in stripey shorts are exquisite. His facial expressions are fantastic. Although simple, it really gets its message across. Frog and duck. Green and white. Love knows no boundaries.

This story meets the standard of the others in the series. We have several and my son, now 8 years old, wanted another for Christmas. The story is so likeable as it's wirtten in a natural down to earth style, where we feel as if we're chatting to Frog about the happenings. As in the other stories the message for the reader is strong but not pushed or false, the ending in this case is that love has no boundaries. After a few pages when frog declared his love for duck, I expected that this love would not be fulfilled and he would have to accept another path in his life, however the opposite happens and duck returns his love, and there bare some lovely images of them both enjoying their new found happiness together. The pictures are childlike but this only makes the frog stories more endearing. My son liked it a lot but read it in five minutes, however they are books I think he will always keep, and pick up to read again from time to time.

I absolutely love this series of books and read lots of them to my 6 year old a few years ago but never quite managed to get around to buying them. Now that he has a little brother/sister on the way he has been asking for a book to read to the bump and we settled on this one. It's just lovely and the ending "A frog and a duck...Green and white. Love knows no boundaries." catches my throat every time and is especially relevant if you're a mixed race couple as we are. There are so many versions (format/size etc) out there, just make sure you know which one you are buying if you're buying for a collection.
