I admit that I bought this product because of the low price, as I only wanted a hand mixer for occasional use and mainly for cake mix, which shouldn't be too taxing. When I first opened the box all was pretty much as I expected, but the very first time I used the mixer it lasted a maximum of 3 min before one of the beaters fell out and would no longer stay in the socket when replaced. There was that horrible smell you get from grinding plastic, the underside of the main unit was scratched and worn around the socket, and the socket itself looked a bit worn.
Apart from that experience, I found the placement of the turbo button a little annoying and kept pressing it by accident. It seemed to make the motor stutter or cut out more frequently than having a turbo effect, but that could have been due to halfhearted accidental pressure being applied rather than intentionally pressing it fully.
I could just have been unlucky, as other people here are happy with the product. Next time, though, I would probably spend a little more on a brand that is better known for the product type.

I bought this particular item for its brand/price/look.

I bought this specifically because it is a Frigidaire and also the price. Used it today to make a xmas cake and it did a good job. Could have done with a bit more power when using the dough hooks, but then I knew it was a 200w mixer before I bought it, so just kept the speed down a bit. The mixers stayed in the machine and I can only think that people who have experienced them falling out, haven't realised that they go in a specific way as these are designed so that one holds the other in. I can recommend this if you, like me, are just a home baker doing the usual quantities of things and it is good value for money.
