This is a good book. The problem is the expectations of all those who read and enjoyed the fantastic Slummy Mummy and are looking for more of the same - they're not going to get it. This book is very different, but it is still a good book, beautifully written once again. The themes however are more grown up and almost psychological, a sort of 30 something analysis of adult relationships, misunderstandings, motivations, so the uplifting humour and pace of Slummy Mummy just aren't there. So, if you don't want to read about that sort of thing, then you will be disappointed, approach it more open minded and you may get more out of it. I enjoyed it, but I too would go for Slummy Mummy if I had to choose between them
