Amazon.co.uk Review

The eighth season of Friends picks up just moments after Monica and Chandler said "I do". The only thing to have changed (once again) is Mathew Perry's weight, otherwise all is very much business as usual: Phoebe makes Rachel's secret pregnancy more complicated; Ross manages to look totally uncool in front of someone he fancies; Joey will do anything for an acting gig; and Chandler blames his two left feet on a new pair of shoes. All of which was so much fluff to set up the year's primary concern: Rachel's baby. Everyone starts speculating on the identity of the father during "The One With the Red Sweater", which is an incriminating clue from a one-night stand. Meanwhile, David Schwimmer gives one of his best performances from behind the camera, directing himself and Chandler attempting to take fresh wedding photos--at someone else's ceremony! We're not kept in suspense long though. "The One Where Rachel Tells..." teases with the possibility of resurrecting the long-time on/off Ross and Rachel relationship. Naturally that goes pear-shaped thanks to "The One with the Videotape", in which they vainly attempt to determine who came on to whom. Highlights of this volume include the before and after jealousies of Monica and Chandler's honeymoon, Joey's surprise gallantry toward Rachel and the gas leak lie. --Paul Tonks

5.0 out of 5 stars A great start to the new season, 23 Mar 2002
By A Customer
THE ONE AFTER "I DO"
In the first episode Monica and Chandler's wedding is almost upstaged by the fact that someone might be pregnent. Phoebe thinks it's Rachel and comes up with a story to cover up. Meanwhille Ross is trying to chat up a pretty single woman. Joey is trying to impress Chandler's Mum's date, an important Broadway producer, with his acting skills and Chandler has problems on the dancefloor.

THE ONE WITH THE RED SWEATER
An excited Monica and Phoebe speculate about who the farther of Rachel's baby is, but Joey thinking Phoebe is the pregnent one makes a gallant gesture. Ross and Chandler franticly try to re-stage the wedding with other couples since Chandler misplaces the cameras and Monica can't wait to open her wedding gifts.

THE ONE WHERE RACHEL TELLS ...
Everybody seems to know who the farther of Rachel's baby is except the man himself. When he finds out he's more concerened about the Condom copmany than his relationship with Rachel and his unborn child. Phoebe and joey lie about a gas leak to get into Monica's and Chandler's apartment.

THE ONE WITH THE VIDEOTAPE
Ross and Rachel's attempt to explain how they wound up in bed together turns into an argument over who came onto whom - until Ross shocks the room by anouncing he has the whole thing on videotape. Meanwhile Monica and Chandler are excited at the thought of hangimg out with another couple they met on their honeymoon. Until they realise their new "friends" gave them a false number.

Episode 1-4 Featuring THE ONE AFTER I DO, THE ONE WITH THE RED SWEATER, THE ONE WHERE RACHEL TELLS & THE ONE WITH THE VIDEOTAPE. Truly breath taking episodes the first four episode of the season are the one's that keep you on the edge of your seat, the question that we have wanted to know sinse the season 7 finale, who is the father of the baby? question is finaly revealed but the episode keep you guessing the whole way and then the identity comes with a big unexpected BANG!! these episodes sum up the mother the father and how it happened but includes great performences from Jennfier Aniston & David Schwimmer 100% MUST SEE EPISODES.

5.0 out of 5 stars I still love it!, 13 Mar 2002
By A Customer
Despite what some people may say about the show going downhill, I am still a huge Friends fan and the latest series is no disappointment to me. As everyone knows, the big story is Rachel's baby and the 'who dunnit?' speculation is laid to rest in "The one where Rachel tells..." (who would have thought it!). These episodes have guest stars a-plenty and loads of hilarious moments to keep all viewers entertained. Plus.....Brad Pitt! Say no more......
As ever, the DVD extras are pretty limited, but the unseen footage is always worth a look. Can't wait for the next series!
