I bought this album when it first came out and totally loved it. It begs to be listened to with no distractions, preferably horizontal because it conjures up a feeling, lulling you into an almost meditative space. Of course The Velvet Underground sometimes spring to mind, as do the Beat poets and other cool figments of the late 50s/60s era but I think Gerard & Co have made their own unique poetry that, like a good wine, needs to be savoured to be truly appreciated. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is that some people might find it a little idiosyncratic but for me it's 6 out of 5. Thoroughly and unreservedly recommended.
