This is a really gorgeous book. The illustrations and simple words somehow convey an incredible warmth and wit that make me want to meet Mo Willems!
Our copy belongs to my five year old son, but I often lie in a heap of giggles with him along with my 8 year old daughter (who's super bright, but doesn't find it at all patronising).
I wish I hadn't read it yet, so that we could re-live the funny night when my son first fell about with it.
Buy it. You need it.

Nice tale of a sad elephant who fails to be cheered up as exciting things seen were not shared with his friend. Graphics spoil a bit as so basic and colours more of a wash than vibrant. Would be lovely if acted out or good storyteller puts emotions into it.

My son received this book for his 5th birthday - one of 4 by Mo Willems, and chose it as the first to read and we were thrilled. The illustrator fabulously depicted the emotion being felt. Thoroughly enjoyed by both adult and son. We can't wait to read the others.
