Magnetic Contacts are ideal for protecting, doors, windows and patio doors (in fact, any opening device, drawer or cupboard for example) and send an instant signal to activate the response alarm in the event of a break-in. Ideal for use in situations that are not suitable for PIR detectors - with animals for example.

I first fitted a Response/Friedland Alarm 2 years ago as a replacment for a professional alarm that was fitted twenty years before. The old wired magnetic sensors were reused because the wireless sensors that came that came with the Response kit were used to protect my workshop and summer house at the top of my garden.Recently I was redecorating and decided to take out a section of the wired system to remove unsightly wires and bought more of rhe sensors to fit as I was so pleased with the ones I fitted two years ago. At the same time I changed the batteries in the two year old units. At the time of the installation two years ago I was concerned that because of the distance away from the controller I would get spurious false alarms but the system has proved completely reliable and my concerns were unfounded. The documentaion states that batteries should be changed each year but I have found that doubling this period is not a problem. I recommend these sensors and the system as a whole, as easy to put in and easy to use. Just one point that may help with instalation of the alarm system is that I found it was better set the Anti Jamming setting to off as I found that it occasionally caused a false alarm from chainsaws and other electrically noisey equipment been used in the vicinity, it is the only problem I had and it was only really doing its job by sensing interference. As there are never enough contacts with the alarm when you first buy them I need to add further contacts. This is easy to fit and install and add into the system. Works perfectly.

Ideal for outdoor buildings, also where pets inhibit use of infrared sensors! Good transmitter range!
