Friedland Response MA5 Single Room Keypad Operated Motion Alarm

Bought two of these and also one of the MA11 model for use in a rental apartment when going abroad for a long vacation.

Has to be mounted using the included bracket (screwed to the wall), or free-standing. I.e. unlike the MA11 it cannot be fixed to the wall using double-sided tape (well you could, but you would have to rip it down to access the battery compartment). Wood-screws and plaster-board plugs included. Once attached to the wall-mount it can easily be taken down (just lift and pull).

The exit delay is fixed at 30 seconds, and the entry delay is 15 seconds (N.B. not 45 and 30 seconds as Amazon's description says, which is good because 30 seconds entry-delay would be way too long).

In alarm mode it emits a single short but loud beep when triggered and the 15 seconds count down starts.

LED is blinking very slowly when in standby mode (every 30 seconds?), and quickly while in entry or exit delay, but no at all (?) when the alarm is armed.

Powered by 3 x 1.5v AAA batteries (not included). The battery door is fixed with a small screw so you can't just walk up to the alarm and take the batteries out before the entry delay expires (although if composed enough you can probably just grab it and smash it on the floor). Seems to also support power from a 4.5V DC mains input (not included) but the manual doesn't mention it.

Plenty loud! Alarm sounds for 30 seconds before going back to armed mode, ready to be triggered again (without an "entry delay" this time it seems). Trying to enter the code while the alarm is sounding is seriously unpleasant and not recommended.

Chime is very loud but not too unpleasant.

Button for setting code and switch for selecting alarm mode (chime or alarm) are located in the battery compartment.

All in all an excellent alarm for a very good price.

arrived very fast use one myself and gave the neighbour one also works fine doesnt faulse alarm and seems well made

They work but they are too easy to remove. The time it takes to alarm is long enough to locate the sensor and break it. They are only made of plastic so a quick stamp on the floor and they will be of no use. They can be fixed to a wall however they simply slip off the bracket. This is useful for battery change etc, but great for a burglar to remove and destroy before going off! Would not recommend... and I bought three in one go.... aargh!
