5.0 out of 5 stars "Its so good it makes you wanna slap your momma", 22 Mar 2004

Friday after next is the latest movie in the friday collection.
The story is basically about Craig (Ice Cube) and DayDay (Mike Epps) getting into the usual trouble on a friday. This time round Craig and DayDay are given jobs as security guards at a local mall. But DayDays power trips cause them a few problems and their planned Christmas Eve party seems as if it aint gonna happen.

Ice cubes brilliant writing lets this comedy appeal to a wide audiance. Its witty and sharp and really does justice to its 2 previous movies. Mike Epps is great again after replacing Chris Tucker as a lead character.

This is definately one of the best comedys released in the last few years, role on "This Friday coming"!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday after next is such a top class film. For people who are fans of the first two movies (Friday and Next Friday) then this is a definite must see, and for those who have not seen the first two movies then go but them! I have read reviews on websites which say this doesnt live up to the first two movies, On some levels I agree with this because nothing could beat the brilliance of Friday and the comic genius of Chris Tucker but it is just as funny with as many hilarious antics and Day Days stupidity. Ice Cube is sheer class in this film and there is much more humour in this than the first two. I would reccomend that anybody who enjoys comedy, see this film and Friday and Next Friday because seeing all three makes it slightly easier to understand and funnier. I definetley think that there should be a fourth movie and that they should bring back Chris Tucker as Smokey.

Watch the Film!!

3.0 out of 5 stars "Got my a** back in the projects. The only place where you get robbed by Santa Claus on Christmas Eve", 20 Jan 2012
This review is from: Friday After Next [DVD] (DVD)
The third part of most trilogies seems to be the weakest one, and whilst 'Friday After Next' is undoubtedly good fun, and packed with enough laughs to please fans of the previous two, it's a film which runs out of steam after a clever, often hilarious first half. Craig and Day-Day begin jobs as security guards at the local mall, conveniently the home of their family's BBQ eatery - with its superb slogan "tastes so good it makes you wanna slap your momma". Their working day is nicely put together, as they try to catch the Santa who robbed them at the opening of the film, and Craig tries to keep Day-Day's hilariously overactive attitude to security in check, whilst hitting on the charming, attractive Donna, girlfriend of one of the mall's shop owners. Unfortunately the film goes downhill about half way through - there's a party which goes on for far too long, and the writers seem to have used up all the best jokes and plausible sub-plots, meaning that the gags go from genuinely laugh out loud to pretty mediocre; and there are too many bizarre characters who pop up and disappear in a film which lasts only 80 minutes. For fans of the first two Friday films, there's enough here to make 'Friday After Next' worth buying, but do be prepared for the film losing its momentum after a while.
