My wife and I picked up one of these a few years ago when we were shopping in Amsterdam in de Bijenkorf - on seeing it I expected it was another Alessi style design but I was pleasantly surprised to find its a British design firm and rather unique. Whilst more expensive than your run of the mill cuppa supply pot this is a very clever design so tea-bags or tea can be easily used. Tea steeps less too as its not sitting in the bottom of the teapot so the brews come out nicely. The side handle design also stops inadvertent steam burns which my old teapot would kindly provide if the lid popped off.
With the wooden handle I wouldn't recommend using a dishwasher as its likely to strip the finish off it. However, given we normally just rinse it out after use its not an issue.
Really excellent and I hope Freud continue to design practical homewares that stand out from the crowd.
