A triumph of photography over flavour!

Most of the recipes seem to use the same, very basic, flavouring - Oyster Sauce and Soy Sauce. The only items with any obvious Thai influence are the curry pastes and these are only used in a few recipes.

The author seems more interested in calorie counting than producing authentic Thai flavours.

Fresh Thai: with this book you will make lovely Thai food. With the suggested fresh herbs and vegetable, you can not miss. And the recipes are very easy.

Over 80 healthy Thai recipes: 80 recipes worthwhile, not one recipe has disappointed me and I have not even tried all of them. My favourites are Pan-fried fishcakes, Green papaya salad, Salmon fillets with chilli and ginger and Panaeng chicken curry.

The book has 7 subcategories: Soups and Starters; Salads; Fish and Seafood; Meat and poultry; Vegetables; Rice and noodles; Desserts. It is easy to flick through the pages and find your recipe. For every recipe the author has reserved one page, mostly with an impressive photo on the opposite side.

The recipe is written like this:

Title and small description.

Ingredients (in grams/lb/oz/pints en inches, easy to follow)

How to make your dish (welcome to the Thai way of cooking, a quick fry to keep al the vitamins inside. When you start making your curry, be prepared to eat within a quarter of an hour. )

Amount of servings

Nutrient analysis per serving (you can skip this if your not interested, but it must have been a lot of work to figure this out per recipe)

Healthy tip (idem ditto)

I have owned this book for 4 years, and even now, that I have turned to a low carb diet it still impresses me. With this cookbook I make on average 2-3 dishes per week.

If you are looking for a Thai cookbook, I suggest this one!
