The brightly-coloured cover draws you into this book which aims to rejuvenate home sewing projects through quilting in colourful and bold designs. This is more of a book aimed towards home decorating, rather than offering any in-depth patchwork or quilting advice. There are varied projects ranging from quilts to scarves and needle cases, and with a good variety in between. Each project has diagrams to assist with the design and layout and colour photographs of the finished objects. But the projects themselves are bright and funky and there is a good variety of patchwork techniques to make them all a little out of the ordinary. It's not really a book for the art quilter looking for inspiration in colour design, but if you feel your home is lacking in exhibiting your creative output, then some of the projects would most likely be of interest. This is a super quilting book, contemporary and fresh. What strikes me initially is the use of colour - it's great. Aimed at all ages and abilities, this book deserves to be a huge success and I hope there will be a follow-up. It is bold with easy projects for beginners. This is the kind of book you open up and immediately want to make the projects. That's the effect that every book should have - make you want to start straight away. Colourful projects to fill your home. Includes projects like the purse and coasters for using small scraps, gorgeous cushions, great scarves, a fantastic sewing machine cover, wall quilts and so much more. Yes some of the close-up images of the patchwork show stitching that is not perfect - but let's not be picky - this is a five star book. It has great projects, varied and appealing to anyone who is not looking to pick holes. Things for all the family, great for yourself or for gifts. There is not one single project in this book that I would not like to make. Of all the books I received for Christmas - this was my favourite. This book has all the information needed for a beginner to start quilting and it contains plenty of projects for someone who is more experienced. It inspires the reader to be creative with colour. The author's sewing is very eyecatching and contemporary: she uses bright colours in a very bold way. In summary, a very good book and worth having.

saw it, liked it, reviewed it,bought it!. started a quilt (modern baby quilt), cut it all out using the templates ....horror!... the template for" A " was wrong! measured it and checked it with fellow quilters and another template i had. i suppose this can happen but i also suppose it should have been checked before selling it!!lucky i was able to work out how to sew it together, error aside ,but that was only after a while! and a minor heart attack having cut out the whole thing!bit of a bummer cause im gonna have to double check in future if i make any more from this otherwise lovely book.

Great book!
This book has some really cool ideas for modern quilting, many of the projects you can do in a few hours and there's lots of scope to add your own ideas.
