Book Description

'The short, snappy dialogue moves along at speed, keeping the storyline twisting and turning nicely. This 'Sex Lite' skiing romp is no Jackie Collins, more of an Agatha Christie-meets-Mills&Boon on a James Bond set.' - Irish Independent.

The story; Lucy and Claire were once best friends but after a row, they haven't spoken in ten years. Imagine their shock when they are thrown together, not only in the same ski resort in the French Alps but in the same chalet. Then they are snowed in, together with two attractive men and a couple with relationship issues, which puts both their friendship and their survival skills to the test.

A new, corrected version was uploaded on February 7, 2012.

NOTE TO AMERICAN READERS: This book has British spelling and grammar as is written and spoken in Europe, Ireland included, which might look like spelling errors. Example: Cosy (British) spelling, cozy (American spelling), realise (British spelling), realize (American spelling) and so on. The heroines are Irish and it would seem strange if they spoke American English.

4.0 out of 5 stars highly recommend for chick lit fans! 16 Mar. 2011
By A.B.
Format:Kindle Edition
I am a massive chick lit fan and I have been enjoying discovering new authors since I got my kindle. This was one of my best finds in the chick lit genre. I really enjoyed it and downloaded more by the same author as soon as I'd finished this one. Despite the wintery title and cover, this can be enjoyed at any time of year and I recommend it to all fans of this genre. NB I have also read Villa Caramel by this author, which I enjoyed but this one is a better story in my opinion. I look forward to reading more from Susanne O'Leary v. soon!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fresh and Fun 20 Aug. 2011
This is an enjoyable romantic comedy about two Irish girls who fell out when they lived together in Ireland, and who meet again years later, many miles away, in unusual circumstances. Their fortunes have changed and they are both now facing new challenges. Will they turn on each other again or will they help each other? And will either of them ever find the right man and fall in love?

The cast of supporting characters in the story are well-developed, and they and the two main characters, Lucy and Claire, have just the right combination of real-life flaws and charm to keep the reader hoping that things will turn out well for all of them as events unfold in the French alps.

The warmth, humour and insight in Fresh Powder make this book an enjoyable, memorable read. Recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Packed full 27 Mar. 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have just finished reading this book and I have to say there is never a dull moment! It has a little bit of everything and I think Susanne does a brilliant job of making each character an individual. It made me laugh out loud in places and is very good chicklit material, lighthearted but unusual, I loved the ending!! I'll be watching out for more from Susanne and definitely recommend to others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Alps 21 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I loved this book and the characters. It was witty and sad and made you think about friendships. Would you be willing to forgive a friend. It had a nice mix of characters each with their own issues. I would recommend this book for holiday or curling up on a winter's day in front of a fire with a hot chocolate. Was sorry when it came to the end. Have not read this author before but will look out for her in future.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK 24 April 2012

An ok book but felt a bit too contrived & flat. The story didn't really go anywhere - not one I would really recommend sorry.

3.0 out of 5 stars Let down by inconsistencies 7 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I really wanted to give this a higher star rating, but was disappointed in several ways - it really needs a good proof reader to pick up errors in spelling and grammar; and the technical detail of how to make a turn on skis was just so wrong! Having said all that, it was a good read but was spoilt for me by the inconsistencies mentioned.

5.0 out of 5 stars A sweet story 1 Mar. 2011
By Janie
Format:Kindle Edition
I didn't know this author, and read it because I was becoming fedup with the authors I ususually stick with. And so glad I did. I thought it was a lovely story, though not really "chicklit" in a chicklit sense. Although parts were funny. Yes, I thought it was great.
