I love good food but I like to stay slim, Fresh Italian allows you to cook the healthy authentic Italian recipes. The book includes Antipasti, pasta, soup, risottos and polenta, fish, seafood, meat, poultry, vegetables and pulses, breads and pizzas and desserts. Some of my favourites are the red onion and sage focaccia, panzanella salad, spaghetti with clams and the dinner party worthy roasted sea bass with potatoes and wild mushrooms one of my all time favourite meals. The best pizza I have ever eaten has been made from this book, Pizza with grilled aubergine, basil and ricotta. Calorie counts and nutritional analysis of protein, carbs, sugar, fat, fibre and sodium are included for each recipe. My favourite cookbook whether I'm watching my weight or not.
I have the rest of the books in this series "Fresh" but I don't use them as much. There isn't a French book included in this series. If you are looking for a light French cookbook I have purchased The Skinny French Kitchen by Harry Eastwood which has lovely pictures and all the classic French recipes although I am yet to try it out to see if they work.
