It's been four years since that long hot summer when Tabby fell in love with Christien Laroche. But tragedy struck and in the emotional aftermath Christien wanted nothing more to do with her. At the same time Tabby found out that she was pregnant with Chritien's child and as he refused all contact and communication with her she could not tell him that she was pregnant. Then fortune smiles on Tabby and her three-year-old son Jake when an Aunty of Christien leaves her a house in France. As Tabby tries to make a new life for herself and her son, Christien reappears in her life and he wants her back. Surely he will soon find out about his son and then what?
This is quite interesting and different from the most other Lynne Graham books. The trials and tribulation of a single and orphaned pregnant teenager with little or no money , desserted by her friends following a tragedy that rocked their friendship was well depicted by Lynne. Amidst these difficulties and hardship Tabby was very determined to provide for her child and found a way to survive. The hero does redeem himself when he comes back into her life and realises that he never stopped loving her. All hell breaks loose when he finds out that he has a son and of course does the right thing by Tabby but not without some twists and turns. A classical example of the saying that the course of true love never runs smoothly. A good read.
