This small coffee table book shows room designs of the French seaside. I know the French and lovers of France say they are unique, as does every other seaside region around the world. There is a European flavor to these rooms, but many could fit into most other seaside dwellings also.
There is a converted boat shed and a fisherman's cottage, hotels and guesthouses among others. They range from locations on the Atlantic, the Mediterranean, harbors and the Cote d'Azur. If they accommodate guests and many of them do, the names, addresses, web sites and phone numbers are given.
The pictures themselves are lovely and of course, do evoke the sea. There is a small amount of text to tell about each setting and a sentence or two for most pictures. However, many times as you look into the photos, you wonder about the furniture and especially the accessories that really are the defining texture of giving these rooms the air of the seaside. Pictures and accessories are often left unidentified, when a short description would have added more interest.
This is a book that decorators and those that would like some ideas for nice seaside theme rooms might enjoy.
