We are planning our eventual move to France - and whilst I speak fluent French, my husband has all but forgotten his school-boy French from 50 years ago! My husband has found this CD excellent for when he is driving to work: he can practice out loud without hindrance or intimidation, and has found a new enthusiasm for learning French with this system, and his growing confidence is astonishing to see! He's now looking for a more advanced course in the same series, to take his French further!

Living near Dover, I have longed to learn french for ages but can't afford to go to night school to learn. I have tried so many different courses but none gave me what this intro to the Michel Thomas method gave me. It made learning french a less scary prospect, I popped the CD into CD player in my car and there it has stayed for the last five months. At first I just played the first three proper lessons Tracks 2-4 (the first track is a copyright notice and an important message from Michel worth listening to but once will suffice). Then I had to go on a 500 mile round trip for work and found I listened to the whole CD many times. ALthough it seems quite basic with an ounce of intelligence you will soon find your self constructing your own sentences. Along with the Vocab I learnt from my previous attempts I'm looking forward to trying it out for real.
