I all ready own the French Girl Knits book and love it, so when I saw that there was a new one due I couldn't wait to buy mine. Yet again Kristeen Griffin-Grimes has brought us a lots of great, stylish designs which will make us pick up our knitting needles and start knitting immediately.

There are some great projects in this book, both for the beginner and the more experienced knitter. There are 6 great hat patterns, I've all ready knit Sapphire which knit up really quickly and is a really unusual beanie style french revolutionary hat. There are also 2 sock patterns, 2 very different wrist warmer knits (one lacy and one in a french weave style), you also get some very stylish ballet style pump/slippers to knit and finally there 4 shrug patterns again lacy as well as chunkier styles and finally there is a really nice cowl to knit.

The photographs are good, with close ups of key details, there is a glossary at the back as well as all of the techniques you will need. The yarns used in the patterns are designer but I have used a cheaper yarn, looking at the needle gauge and thickness of wool to help me decide on what wool to buy. Of course, because these are accessories using the more expensive wool is an option as you don't need to buy as much.

Great knitting book, excellent, love the Interweave books.

This book is lovely with some very wearable accessories, and has the chic one expects from French patterns, even though it's written by an American. Some of the terms used take a bit of puzzling out, but once that's sorted, no problem.

It's a wonderful book, full of inspirational patterns, and rarely for me, I intend to knit every one so it's good value! The book contains lots of beautiful, atmospheric photos and clear instructions; the standard is intermediate (and plus) I think. It is American though, so it may not be easy/possible to find the exact yarns specified in the UK. I am a knitter with many years' experience but most of these patterns require particular skills or concentration. They aren't "knit and watch TV" jobs. If you look inside and like the flavour of what you see, then don't hesitate. Even if you don't actually decide to knit the patterns, it's a lovely coffee table book for knitting addicts!
