This book contains 40 rustic feel projects for the home, the majority of which are sewing projects but there are a few which are not such as making a blackboard or furniture renovation. The sewing projects include cushions, bags, table linen, a needle roll, a wool basket and a patchwork quilt.

I love the blue and white colour palette used throughout and the photography is great. Unfortunately the layout of the text seems very odd, the text is in a small font which is hard to read and is at the bottom of the page - often with big white spaces above it. It would have been a lot easier to read if they had increased the font size and used the whole page. There are also hand drawn diagrams accompanying the projects which in places look a little amateur, the patterns in the back are also hand drawn.

However, if you are looking for projects with a rustic/countryside feel for your home you should find ones you like in here. I wouldn't recommend the book for complete beginners though as the instructions are quite brief and there is no techniques section, it assumes the reader already has some sewing knowledge/experience.

I almost didn't purchase this Kindle book because of a not so good review. But I did, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the ideas, etc. are well presented, and easy to implement, for the most part. If you like French Country Chic, or think you do, I suggest purchasing this book. I do not think you will be disappointed.
1.0 out of 5 stars Not that chic. 21 Oct 2012

These projects would suit school-aged children. I am surprised at the pedestrian nature of the projects. I am glad I borrowed the book from a library and didn't buy it.
