I couldn't believe my luck on discovering that the elusive alternative version of La Belle Noiseuse was one of the three films contained in this box set. And for that reason alone, it is worth buying. This wonderful reworking of Rivette's masterpiece is in some ways more haunting than the original and a must for any Word cinema fan.
That said, the other two films in this set are excellent too. Beart's beauty often overshadows her impeccable skills and commitment to her work, so it's great to see three films spanning approximately around fifteen years of her long and very successful acting career, just in case we needed reminding that she is one of the best actresses of our time.
