I have given away about a dozen copies of this little book over the last 3 years as end-of-term prizes for year 6 children - a good basic introduction with short phrases and not too babyish for lower secondary pupils either. The cover is the most colourful part but it's good value for money.

This is the best phrase book we've seen. Our French friends were amazed at the "real" French it gave, unlike so much of the text book style language in phrase books. The phonetic pronunciation guide is fantastic; our 9 year old was able to use it with her friends to extend her range of conversation in minutes. Great fun for us all!

This book is an excellent guide for beginners, clearly laid out and easy to use. It has not only the translations but a pronounciation guide with every single phrase which was really useful.
It's also smaller in size than it looks from the picture which means it's very easy to carry around although the font size is very small.
