despite what other reviews have said this album is just as good as many of there other albums there are only a couple of songs that are a bit dancey or funky in style the rest of the album is just as rocking as there older material its worth getting if your a big fan of the group

Made in 1977, 'Freeways' is an album that helps justify punk rock's mission to sweep away the old guard. Gone is the crunching, bass-heavy rock sound of earlier albums, replaced by a penchant for funk and disco rhythms that don't suit the band. It's particularly excruciating when allied to the cliched sentiment of the opening track, 'Can We All Come Together'. There are just three tracks worthy of their place here. The first is the Creedence-like 'Life Still Goes On', not typical but fluid and beaty. The others are the gorgeous 'Down Down' (not the Status Quo song) with its impeccable guitar solo and the title track, the only track which wouldn't sound out of place on the early albums. This album is better avoided.
