The Freeloader Supercharger solar charger is a very tough, all weather solar cell, capable of charging a Freeloader solar charger in half the time. Simply strap Supercharger to a backpack, bike pannier or travel bag and plug it into Freeloader's hub for instant power wherever your travel. Supercharger will fully power up a Freeloader in as little as 4 hours in sunshine, which means it is possible to charge Freeloader twice in one day! Light weight, practical and eco-friendly!

    Not impressed! 2 July 2010
The first charger I received literally fell to bits as soon as I plugged the USB in - not good. I received a replacement without any fuss, however.

The second one hasn't fallen to bits. However it claims to fully charge twice a day when it's sunny. I disagree. Today we have blazing sunshine as indeed we've had all week, yet it has no charge.

Sitting alongside it on the windowsill is a Uvee panel which is merrily absorbing energy as I speak, so there is clearly enough solar energy to charge these panels.

The Supercharger is not super, nor does it charge. Avoid and get a more efficient charger instead.

Not half bad actually 11 April 2011

I use the Freeloader mainly for charging my mobile, so only once every 3/4 days. For this the Freeloader is great, although during the winter when there were a few cloudy days in a row I had to dig out the phone charger again (one of the reasons I got the Supercharger).

During summer, it's great, works well, just needs moving during the day round the garden as in shade the power drops dramatically. Using the 'old' version of the Freeloader battery (with the 3 LEDs), the middle one changes from green to red depending on how much charge it's getting.

Haven't tried it in the winter months yet, but hopefully a few days of even cloudy weather should give a decent charge with the Supercharger.

This is brilliant! I've had a freeloader for years but it always takes ages to charge in the limited sun of a British summer. This supercharger boosts the juice meaning more charge for the sunlight we get.
