By A Customer
I was slightly disappointed with the format (A4, quite plain-looking, and only 90 or so pages) of this book when it arrived, but on reading it I quickly revised my first impressions. This book gives a good introduction to copy-editing and proofreading, covering much that a would-be freelancer needs to know and it points you in the direction of other books and resources to obtain the rest of the necessary skills and knowledge. It is well written and it's even funny here-and-there. My husband kept asking what I was laughing at when I was reading it.

The topics covered include overviews of book production, copy-editing, and proofreading, how to make the first contact with a publisher, a list of publishers that use freelancers, and a number of exercises to help you learn the marks and skills you need.

I am definitely glad I bought this book and I will read it again before too long.
